Our firm's principal areas of practice in Trusts and Estates are: 1. Estate Planning. The Trusts and Estates department customizes each client's estate plan to his or her individual needs, whether it be drafting a Revocable Living Trust, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trust, or a Charitable Foundation. Our knowledgeable attorneys and staff who specialize in this area allows us to distinguish ourselves from the typical "trust mill" or general practitioner. Often times a client's estate planning needs also involves general corporate law and international law issues. Our firm takes a multiple service approach to these clients and has the resources and lawyers in other departments that work together to create the most ideal estate plan for the client. 2. Trust Administration. We assist Trustees in administering the Trust upon the Settlor's passing. Our services include, but are not limited to, post-mortem tax-planning, trust asset accounting, and assisting in trust asset distribution. 3. Probate. A few common misconceptions people have are that if they have a will or if as long as they have a trust, even if it is not properly funded, probate can be avoided. We assist clients who either never created a trust or never properly funded their trust, to probate estates that are valued over $100,000. Our services include, but are not limited to, assisting in the sale of real property, notifying creditors, preparing accountings, and assisting in distribution of the estate. Contact us today. |
